9M pm incl 8K Met League x-country race (31.35; 19th; 6th Highgate)
I was pleased with today's race again and I've decided I am going to stop using the excuse that I am rubbish at cross-country.
I think this was an improvement on my last two cross-countries. And I had been pleased with each of those. I felt fairly full of running from the outset but kept a lid on my enthusiasm and measured my effort fairly well. I gained places during the first lap and a half and then maintained it. Downhills were still my best part of the course, but I was pleased not to leave much ground on the (gentle) ups.
It was a great team performance too - 12 of us finished in the top 38. The B team are top of their league too. And the women won their race too. A great day out in the mud.
