This blog is mainly to help me and Ron (my fabulous coach) keep track of what is going on in my training. Good days. Bad days. Successes and failures. Aches and pains. That sort of thing. But please come visit once in a while to see how we're getting on!

A light day to see how my leg goes

8M recovery run at 8.00-7.00min/M

I took it easy today to rest my leg. I've decided it's my popliteus muscle that is tight. It's a little muscle right up in the knee that holds the leg locked when you're standing. God knows why that's the one to decide to get upset. The others surely have more excuse.

Anyway, I rested it, iced it, slapped some ibuprofen gel on it and treated it to a trip to have some sports massage at ontrack sports therapy in Brixton. It has no excuse now.

By the evening it was better. I managed a recovery run without discomfort. So I'll do the same tomorrow morning and reassess. Hopefully I'll hit a hard one in the evening.
