This blog is mainly to help me and Ron (my fabulous coach) keep track of what is going on in my training. Good days. Bad days. Successes and failures. Aches and pains. That sort of thing. But please come visit once in a while to see how we're getting on!

Back running - with a fast 10 miler

10M - tempo run at 5.37min/M

I think I'm back! We'll see how my knee is doing later in the day, but I felt good blasting through these 10 miles around Hyde Park.

Ron feels I should run everything at 6.00min/M or faster from now on - which might be a bit of a challenge on tired days. Today I started at 6.00 and gradually picked it up. By the end I was going at about 5.20, having averaged 5.37 (just under record half marathon pace). I was tired by the end, but dead chuffed to be out there again. My pulse was 182bpm at cruising speed towards the end.

I enjoyed being out in Hyde Park having watched the triathlon there on Sunday.

I've applied a 'deep freeze' patch to my knee and popped some ibuprofen to reduce the chance of any adverse reaction. I'll aim for something steadier (but faster than 6.00min/M) tomorrow.
