This blog is mainly to help me and Ron (my fabulous coach) keep track of what is going on in my training. Good days. Bad days. Successes and failures. Aches and pains. That sort of thing. But please come visit once in a while to see how we're getting on!

A race!

9M pm incl 5M Met league cross-country race (29m28s; 45th; 10th Highgate)

I really enjoyed getting back to racing, even if I'm a bit sluggish right now. The thrill of the start line is just one of my favourite things. And I do love flinging myself down the muddy hill at Ally Pally!

I didn't have a clue where I was going to be fitness-wise, so settled into a cautious rhythm from the gun. I probably got it about right and slowly picked my way through the field.

The fields in Met league races are getting stronger and stronger, so it's hard too judge how far down I am on my pre-paternity leave form. Looking at the other people who are usually around me, I think I'm probably 30-60s down.
